Sometimes
I'm just wishing
For a pair of wings
To fly away.
Because
All of my problems
Are grounded--
And so are you.
Sometimes
I like to think
That I could jump
From the top of the swing set
And touch the sky.
Because
When you think about it
If the sky's the limit
Then it shouldn't be too far away.
Sometimes
I wonder how it would feel
Not to feel.
Because
Now and then
A little absence of emotion
Wouldn't be such a bad thing.
Sometimes
I imagine
What complete freedom
Would feel like.
Because
Even though we're "free"
We're not really at liberty.
Sometimes
I'm enchanted
By stars and moons
And constellations.
Because, really,
Who wouldn't want
To be a super nova?
Sometimes
I daydream
Of impossible scenarios
That would never ever happen--
Even somewhere over the rainbow.
Because
Don't we all want
A happily-ever-after
Once in a while?
Sometimes
I ponder six impossible things
In six quick-fire seconds.
Because
My seventh thought
Is how dull
Life would seem
Without them.

never trust a writer
It's best to stay far away from us writers. We're double-agents, and can't be trusted.
You see, we just have this terrible privilege of not being able to tell the difference between reality and fiction. We sometimes forget that the emotions in our head might not run with as much passion as they really do, and then we get disappointed in things that make normal people happy. We're afraid to get close to people, and yet all we do is yearn for human contact. That's why we write about it, and that's why we lose touch on what it really feels like to be in a relationship.
Writers often find that we don't fully comprehend the world around us, and,

Save The Whales
"You know what?"
"No, what?"
"We should never fall in love."
"Huh? Why?"
"Well, it's simple, really."
"Explain it to me, then."
"We're opposites, you and me. You're the sun, I'm the moon. You are day, I am night. You're warm and you beat with the vitality of life. I'm pretty chilly and I beat my fists against the mirror for showing me reality instead of dreams."
"I still don't quite understand."
"I am a dreamer, and you are a dream."
"Thanks, I guess."
"No, listen--you're like the people who say 'save the whales'. You want to save the world, you want to do some good. You want to make a change, make a difference. And me... well, I'm

A fairy tale without lies
When I used to think of you,
I'd look at that picture of you with that fairy tale smile,
The puffiness underneath your eyes,
A smoldering feature beneath the longing pain coloring the background of my mind.
So my first impression of you was maybe a bit off,
As are my denials,
Of our heart connection,
And that maybe someday I will find you the one to see in love.
People talk about all the things in life to go back to.
I only think of you to hold on to.
And every touch of your love sends warmth in a way,
Where I could almost smell a fairy tale without lies.

Alright. So, this was inspired by the new Alice in Wonderland.
"I think of six impossible things before breakfast."
Some of these things, I really do think about.
I did not write this in six seconds, though.
Anyway, critique Q's:
-Is it too vague?
-Does it flow?
-Does it come together at the end?
-What do you think of the ideas?
